Who among us hasn’t experienced a moment of clarity amid confusing layers of thought? A new possibility, a new thought that shines a light in a situation which until then appeared hopples and impossible to solve.
There is a say; that the ‘night, is darkest just before dawn’. Understanding the possibility that new thought has the potential to bring light, clarity, new ideas and new perspective to our darkest feelings and life experience is the most powerful resource we have as humans.
Shifts on thinking from insightful moments, happen to all of us, they arise from our human natural state of being, and we often experience them, however, often-times, we by-pass them, disregard them or have not awareness of them, in other words we do not see the power that comes from our natural innate well-being, intuition and wisdom.
ABOUT MYSELF
What inspired my purpose to help others to live to their best potential was my own suffering with anxiety, depression, addictions, and a sense that life was much too difficult for me to navigate, Towers of judgemental thought of who I was, paired with the believe that I would never succeed, achieve, be a good mother, reach the social expectations required to be happy, to feel whole, the ingrained believe of not being good enough.
At some point in my life the pain of my life-experience, was so unbearable that there was no more fight in me. There was nothing else to do but surrender, and it was in that moment of surrender, in the letting go or letting be that I began to notice how the layers of thought were collapsing.
I remember my first thought after what it seemed something like a vacuum, spaceless moment. ‘This is me, this is my life’. These thoughts came with a sense of peace, it was okay to be me just as I was.
That powerful insight was the foundation of the beginning of my search for truth, my curiosity for the possibility to experience live with a sense of freedom.

I a simple yet deeply profound understanding, I believe it is the most important thing ANYBODY can know. Simply put, I will share that:
1. Wellbeing (peace of mind, hope motivation) is BUILT INTO each and every human being. It is a factory setting. This means it is universal, It also means that it is NOT CONDITIONAL or DEPENDENT on genetics, acquisitions, accomplishments, achievements – or requirements being met. It means that no one and no thing can give us wellbeing. No one and no thing can take it away from us. It resides within all of us: ALL THE TIME.
2. Wellbeing CANNOT be damage, lost, broken or stolen. But it can be covered up at times, such that we don’t experience it. When this happens, they’ll feel insecure, bound and non-resilient. We liken wellbeing to the sun. I’ll explain that on the greyest days, while we may loose sight of the sun, we never doubt it has gone. So too with our wellbeing. Understanding this alone is key to someone remaining hopeful in the bleakest of times and losing hope, the knowledge that wellbeing has been covered up but is ALWAYS there.
3. We explain PRECISELY what is that covers up their wellbeing ie. What the grey clouds ar. We all have moments when it really DOES seem like someone or something CAN take our wellbeing away from us, or give it to us. I these moments, when our innate wellbeing feels conditional or dependent, we WILL feel insecure (in varying degrees – Some clouds are light some are dark).
4. We explain PRECISELY what it is that lifts the clouds so that they can experience MORE of their innate wellbeing.
5. We NORMALISE the human experience. EVERY single human being on this planet will have moments of pure sunshine and moments of grey skies, and everything in between. When the sun (of wellbeing) is covered up and the sky is grey, they do not need to worry that is anything wrong with them. They know WHY it is covered up AND HOW it gets uncovered again – and that they are NOT LACKING in any way.
6. In fact, we believe this is what MENTAL HEALTH is: knowing that there’ll be moments when we DO NOT experience wellbeing but never doubting that it is within. It is the difference between feeling hopeless and remaining hopedul.
7. We invite our clients to take a deep look at ‘the clouds’ that cover up their wellbeing, the UNDER THE ICEBERG stuff. Things ‘what if I fail? Am I good enough? Am I meeting everybody’s expectations? I need you to think I’m OK in order to be ok! Do I look ok? What must I do to get your approval? This exploration is vital, if we don’t address the things we outsource our wellbeing to, they tend to pop up repeatedly ABOVE THE ICEBERG, in many, many areas of our lives.
8. Our clients learn that when they’re experiencing their wellbeing, they WILL make wise, appropriate and responsive choices from a place of uncamditional security.
People who are content and secure ALWAYS do.
So what I share Youth and adults alike find it invaluable to have SIGNPOSTS to know how they’re doing, a COMPASS to redirect towards wellbeing, and the UNSHAKEABLE BELIEF that whether they experience it or not, THEY HAVE EVERYTHING THEY NEED INSIDE OF THEM.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION
Clinical supervision is all about providing a safe, confidential and trusting environment for therapist to reflect on, discuss and evaluate your clinical work – both in a professional and personal capacity.
Clinical supervision fulfils three main functions; gatekeeping (ensuring client safety), supporting supervisees’ professional competency, and enhancing client treatment outcomes.
Supervision can be used by supervises to reflect on all aspects of their clinical work. Supervision can support professional development and growth by enabling an environment which encourages self-reflection.
Reflection facilitates the opportunity to review personal practice, discuss cases in depth, and identify any training and development needs which can support quality improvement and ensure increased levels of accountability.
When working as a therapist, we have a duty of care for our clients, and we work with people who have complex, challenging and sometimes very intense needs. Supervision enables conversations in a trusting, confidential environment to explore our emotional and personal reactions to our work. More than this, it allows us to reflect on and challenge our practice as a therapist through receiving feedback that is entirely separate to managerial considerations. As a result, supervision has been associated with higher levels of job satisfaction and effectiveness at work.
My obligation to you as your supervisor, I will adopt a supportive and facilitative approach to our conversations. I will act as an ethical role model concerning managing boundaries within your work. I realise that balancing this duty of care with the ethical responsibility of confidentiality, to preserve trust and a supervisory alliance with my supervisees, requires careful navigation. I therefore continuously reflexively examine myself as supervisor to ensure I am always working on my own professional development. I examine my practice, my purpose, identity, ethics, values and my aims to ensure all my supervisees are receiving top quality supervision in each session with me.
Vision statement I offer a practice-focused, professional service to all my supervisees. I aim to present a clear image of clinical supervision to supervisees, clients and the general public by competently, transparently and empathically offering integrated support to supervisees. I intend to ensure the highest quality of professional and ethical practice, education and continuous professional development.
I am passionate about upholding integrity and meaning-making in my relationships with my supervisees while also offering rigorous supervisory skills that will genuinely help to challenge and support development.
This vision requires an enhanced self-awareness, resolution of core issues, the will to critically reflect on practice, and accountable decision-making – all of which I aim to deliver on.
I aim to provide a safe, confidential and professional supervisory relationship that empowers both new and experienced counselling and psychotherapy supervisees to achieve personal excellence. I hope to promote my supervisees’ social, emotional and psychological wellbeing through my sessions to enable them to achieve increased job satisfaction. I fully embrace and advocate cultural difference and welcome all questions, including those around sexuality and gender; developing and maintaining the supervisory alliance, and recognising the significance of counsellors’ and psychotherapists’ professional development within organisations and in private practice (as guided by BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018), as fundamental to quality client care).
